Acquisition of citizenship of the Czech Republic

The law allows for the existence of dual (or multiple) citizenship. The basic ways of acquiring Czech citizenship are birth and grant. At birth, a child acquires the citizenship of the Czech Republic if at least one parent is a citizen of the Czech Republic. By granting them, citizens of a foreign state or stateless persons with a permanent residence permit in the territory of the Czech Republic have the opportunity to acquire the citizenship of the Czech Republic.

Demonstrating knowledge of Czech and realities

One of the conditions is to demonstrate knowledge of the Czech language at the B1 level and to demonstrate basic knowledge of the constitutional system of the Czech Republic and orientation in the cultural, social, geographical and historical realities of the Czech Republic.
