How to Communicate Effectively about the "Other"

In 2017, this publication funded by Anna Lindh Foundation analysing public perception and media coverage of "the other in six European countries, including the Czech Republic, was published.

This publication summarises and analyses public perception and media coverage of "the other", including Muslims, Arabs and refugees, in six European countries: Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. The Paper draws conclusions and provides recommendations on how to communicate more effectively towards segments of the society who are afraid or hateful of members of communities other than the majority population. It suggests to engage with them through a constructive dialogue, with tailor-made messages, as well as a better quality of public and media debates. Each country is analysed as a case study and has its own communication strategy.
